Wellbeing, built into how schools lead.
At GEW, our mission is to help international schools build healthier environments where educators can do their best work. Through the GEW Method, rooted in the HIVE Framework, we help schools embed educator wellbeing into everyday school life — how they lead, connect, and grow.
We envision a future where educator wellbeing is recognized as a strategic foundation of successful schools — embedded into leadership, communication, relationships, and culture, so that educators, students, and school communities can flourish together.

Built for International Schools
Built for international educators, not adapted from somewhere else
International education brings unique challenges, and there’s no one-size-fits-all fit. Living and working abroad often means adapting to new cultures, navigating transitions, and building community from scratch — while still showing up for others.
Because we’ve lived this experience ourselves, GEW is built specifically for international educators and school communities. International schools deserve wellbeing approaches designed for international schools, not adapted from somewhere else.

Jelena Jakovljevic, MPH, NBC-HWC
Jelena believes that educator wellbeing should be at the heart of how schools function, not just an add-on. She started Global Educators Wellbeing after working in public health, research, and health and wellness coaching, including at the World Health Organization.
While running her coaching practice, CoWellness, she noticed that real change for educators comes not only from personal habits but also from the environments where they work. The schools and educators she partnered with inspired her to create GEW, combining coaching, public health research, and whole-school strategy.
Jelena has lived and worked on three continents and has helped her own children navigate eight international schools. She knows international education firsthand, from cultural transitions to leadership, school culture, and educator wellbeing.
